Earlier this year, Pokopia announced that there would be an expansion pass coming to the game in August. We’ve now got more details and a release date! Part 1 of the Pokemon Pokopia expansion pass, called Bubbly Basin, will be launching on August 5th, 2026.

“I do not even know where to start when describing Pokopia. It’s a Pokemon flavoured chore simulator, is maybe the best way to put it? That doesn’t sound appealing in the slightest, and honestly, it’s the same problem I come up with when I try and describe to my “gamer” friends why I like Animal Crossing so much. Yes, all I do is log on and hope that by artfully arranging some grass and flowers I can get a new friend to wander around my little plot of land doing not much of anything. Would I rather go save the galaxy? Eh, in about 30 minutes. I’m just waiting for Scyther to finish chopping wood.”
The name of this pass; Bubbly Basin, is actually the name of your new underwater town in this pass. This area will have the ability to grow watermelons to help Pokemon with the Water specialty. Pokemon with the Generate specialty can power bubble machines or active streetlights as well. Along with this new location, there will be more Pokemon to discover, new outfits, a new prepared food (smoothies) and a power-up for the move Surf.
With a name including Part 1, there is going to be a part 2 of the Pokemon Pokopia Expansion pass – this one releasing later in the year. We don’t know much about part two, but it’s been revealed that there will be more furniture, Pokemon and the ability to dress up your favorite Pokemon using accessories.
If you aren’t purchasing the Pokopia Expansion but have Pokopia, all players with the game will be able to learn the move Dive from Manaphy in a free update, where you can then swim alongside Water-type Pokemon and build underwater, even without the water town to build in specifically.
