Moss: The Forgotten Relic announced for PC and Consoles

Moss: The Forgotten Relic has been announced for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. It’s a bundling of the two Moss games, which have — until this point — been inaccessible on any of these platforms as they were VR exclusive.

The first two games are emotional and atmospheric adventures set within the pages of a living storybook that’s stuffed full of myth and ancient magic. We’ve previously played through both of the Moss games, following the wide-reaching adventures of Quill, the mouse, with our favourite being Moss: Book II.

Quill is a young mouse with dreams of greatness beyond the confines of her home. This game aims at blending exploration, environmental puzzles, combat and heartfelt connection between the player and the hero. They’ve always been a touching and adorable character, so it’s great to hear that ‘flat game’ players will now be able to experience his adventures.

The announcement trailer looks stunning, introducing Moss’ magical storybook world and giving a glimpse at the “twofold” gameplay, where a player not only controls a tiny but determined hero on her heartfelt adventure but also directly is able to interact with the world itself as the hero’s watchful guardian, the Reader.

Being a combination of the first two games, Moss: The Forgotten Relic has some interesting accessibility options, including the option to skip combat, so that you can focus on the immersive story.

Currently, there isn’t a set release date for Moss: The Forgotten Relic beyond “this Summer” but you can already wishlist the game on Steam ahead of the launch. When it does launch it will also launch for consoles, and it is said to be coming to Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch systems. We’ll be sure to let you know when we get an exact date for it, although Summer is just around the corner, eh?
