Las Vegas Party Game – It’s all a gamble
Las Vegas, known as the world of gambling, casinos, and maybe hitting it big. In Las Vegas Party Game, you’ve got the element of gambling, the prize pots of winners, and a lot of dice rolls. The game itself is simple, but not in a bad way — there are six different casinos, all with a different die number on them, to show where you want to go.
These six casinos in the Las Vegas Party Game and each have two bills randomly added to them. These bills are the prizes that you get if you win, which can range from 10,000 to 100,000. The winner of that casino gets the higher bill and second place gets the lower bill. However, there is a lot of strategy in how you play. Starting with whoever is first, each player must roll their colored dice. There are a handful of smaller die with one larger dice. Once youv’e rolled, you can use your dice to “go” to a casino.
On your turn, you can only place dice of the same number. They need to be put onto the corresponding casino. So, if I roll two four-dice, and one five dice, I need to choose if I want to place the four or the five, not both. I can however place both fours if I pick four. This is easier in practice than explained. Once you are done placing, it goes onto the next person and continues around until everyone is out of dice.
There is actually a lot of strategy when it comes to spending dice in Las Vegas Party Game, as you will want to make sure you are playing your dice in a way that you can win — and often spending too much too soon can make things unpredictable. There is the large die, which is worth two points in scoring, however, while it’s strategically important, it can often be hard to pick out on the sea of dice in the casinos. Our group very much wished these dice were transparent or sparkly — something to make them look different.
When it comes to placing dice (and winning) you want to have the most points on a casino you are hoping to win. Small dice are worth one point and your large die is worth two. There is a bit of a twist though! If someone else has the same number of points one a casino as another player, these are cancelled out, and both parties don’t get anything. This is a good way to prevent ties and allow players to “block out” other players from bigger wins, which adds a lot to the game.
Las Vegas Party Game is easy to understand and fun to play. Often we found ourselves not completely sure of who was winning and who wasn’t, which brings out a lot of fun as we try to stop each other with our final turns. It’s just a simple party game that does feel a little different.
