TFC2: Collapse of The Bronze Age announced
An official sequel to The Fertile Crescent has been announced by MicroProse. TFC2: Collapse of The Bronze Age is a narrative-driven game that takes place in a setting defined by one of history’s most dramatic periods of upheaval. This is a direct expansion of the previous game, building on the foundations.
We previously reviewed The Fertile Crescent when it first released:
“While not exactly saturated, it has to be mentioned that the strategy genre has some ancient period entries such as Caesar, Pharaoh, or Europa Universalis: Rome. In the traditional real-time strategy niche, one of the most prominent titles is with no doubt the original Age of Empires — which also happens to be the game The Fertile Crescent draws its inspiration most from.”
TFC2: Collapse of The Bronze Age is set during the late Bronze Age Collapse, where the world around them is crumbling. Kingdoms are fighting for control, cities are in ruins, and trade routes are falling apart. You will need to lead a small group of survivors, trying to keep everyone together and alive while the world itself is struggling to keep up.
This game blends together classic real-time strategy foundations like resource gathering, tactical combat, and village building with a more survival-focused approach. There’s a big focus on adapting to their settlement and making sure that what you are building is sustainable in such a challenging landscape. One of the main focuses is food, as food is needed to support armies and sustain your population. You will also follow a narrative campaign that has a cast of characters, all dealing with the events happening around them in different ways that they cannot control. Will you be able to survive drought, rising unrest, and rival powers? Only time will tell.
TFC2: Collapse of The Bronze Age doesn’t have a release date yet, but you can wishlist the game on Steam.
