Death Road to Canada TRACHEA Update Announced
Death Road to Canada has been around for a decade now, with consistent updates adding more content. While the developers are working on a new game, which is in the playtesting phases, they have announced that the updates aren’t going to slow down for Death Road to Canada, with the TRACHEA Update being the next recent one.
For those unfamiliar, Death Road to Canada is a survival, zombie game where you are destroying zombies, looting various places, recruiting more alive people, and just trying to get to Canada. We previously reviewed the game:
“Would this be a game for you though? The best way to answer this question is with another question: does the idea of having a shotgun wielding dog as your party leader sound fun? Would a wrestler picking up your car and throwing it at the undead horde be something entertaining? If so, then you’re onto a winner here. Death Road to Canada is a roguelike that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s tough, but with so much variety that another run is practically demanded upon your untimely demise. On top of all of this though, is that it’s a perfect fit for Nintendo Switch. It’s a game that can be played easily in short bursts in either docked or portable mode and is worthy of your time and purchase. See you on the road!”
The TRACHEA Update has a bunch of new characters: The Stug, a rally driver who modifies your car over time); Mobster, a charming dink that uses guns to mow down zombies; the Swiss Guard, a protector, who has a halberd combo to master; the Crash Dummy, who loves being bitten (or at least that’s what he says); the Blacksmith, who makes firearms and ammo; and the First Mate, who leaps at enemies with a giant anchor and can pull mid-air moves to destroy things.
This already provides for a fun amount of new content and playstyles, but there is more. Death Road to Canada has new locations – a Martial Arts shop, with weapons and upgrades, along with a Harbor which has lots of cars sitting in the water, in the TRACHEA update. There are different personality archetypes, which haven’t been updated in a while, allowing 8 new interactions for events, with old events being updated.
Alongside these larger parts of the update, there are a handful of new weapons, new gameplay mode changes, and lots of new accessibility options. It’s a massive update to celebrate a massive achievement.
