Cats and Seek Osaka – Find Cats in Japan

0
If you know Robin and I, then you’ll know that we have been blasting through every single type of Hidden Object cat game that we’ve seen appear on our Xbox. This time, we took on Cats and Seek Osaka. This hidden cat game isn’t exactly within the same realm of the previous cat games we’ve played, so we were excited to see how it did things differently.

Cats and Seek Osaka has three levels within it, that each have you finding over 100 cats. These levels are one big screen, all themed around the Japanese city of Osaka, where you need to click on the cats you find. I am not sure if Robin and I are just experts, as we tend to open these games up on our Xbox and then simply point and trade controllers until they are all found, but we really made quick work of these levels!

The artwork in Cats and Seek Osaka are quite nice, and Robin quickly discovered that you can change the color of the outlines, background, and cats themselves — a cool feature There are a bunch of presets, but you can also drag a color wheel around to make the exact colors you want. This isn’t something we have found in any of the other games, so that was quite fun!

There is a hint system included, but it’s not limited like some of the others. Instead, you can use a hint and then wait for it to “cool down” before using the hint again. This hint will draw a sparkly circle around a small section of the world that has a cat in it. We did use the hints towards the end, for the last few cats we needed to find.

Once you finish a level on Cats and Seek Osaka, there is a blast of confetti and then you can go back to the menu and check out another level. If you complete “normal” mode, you are able to try it in a speedrun mode, which has a timer ticking down to see how fast you can find all the cats without using any hints.

Although Cats and Seek Osaka was a short experience for us, we did enjoy some of the more unique aspects of this hidden object game and felt that it made for a good early-morning activity, and would make for a good time when you just want to relax and see cats.

You can find Cats and Seek Osaka on Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC.
