Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Expansion Revealed
It is Pokemon’s 30th anniversary this year, so it makes sense that there are tons of reveals related to the milestone! The most recent reveal is is for the 30th Celebration Expansion that’s coming to the Pokemon Trading Card game, which will be released on September 16th.
This new set of cards includes a new ‘Futuristic Rare’ rarity, which features designs by YOSHIROTTEN, as well as 30 classic cards returning to new sets. There is also a guaranteed Pikachu rare card in each booster pack, giving collectors something extra to chase with each pack opening. To match the milestone there are thirty different rare Pikachu cards within the new expansion – so this is perfect if you’re also a fan of Pokemon’s famous mascot.
The 30th Celebration Expansion comes to us in multiple different forms: An Elite Trainer box, with one illustration rare-style promo card that features Nidorina in it; The 30th Celebration Poster collection, which includes three promo cards featuring Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, along with one full-sized, two-sided poster; A Tech Sticker Collection, which features one foil promo card featuring Alolan Exeggutor or Lucario, and a corresponding sticker sheet; and a Pokemon 30th Celebration Pokemon ex Box, which features one promo card with Sylveon ex or Greninja ex, and one corresponding overside card, and a ex Tin, which includes a promo card of Sylveon ex or Greninja ex as well. There is also, of course, the regular booster packs that you’re likely used to spotting on or behind shop counters too.
The curious of you can take a quick look at these digitally before they launch, as they’ll be added into Pokemon TCG Live on September 15th, a day earlier than the physical copy release for a bit of a preview.
