The Noble Osprey Earbuds punch through the budget bracket in more ways than one

0
The Noble Osprey easily justifies its price-point and position as a high-end, budget-conscious set of ear buds.

In 2026 there’s probably not much that can be innovated on when it comes to earbuds, right? Ultimately, when we look for a set these days we look for audio quality, which ties into tech, which ties into price. Beyond that it’s design and form factor. The Noble Osprey hits the mark on all of these points with the exception of price — these sit at the top end of the budget range, enough so that most casual listeners might balk at the cost.

We’ve been playing around with the Noble Osprey earbuds over the last short while – although playing around certainly seems a word that you shouldn’t use when discussing something that feels as premium as this. They’re a feature-rich set of buds, with almost every checkbox of what makes modern earbuds great enthusiastically checked off: Clean design, fast charge and a robust auto-noise cancellation. The whole thing comes in a modest charging case that features an incredibly sturdy design and one of the snuggest snap-fits that are out there, all while being discreet enough that it’s not likely to be immediately stolen if left on a table for a moment (we had this happen recently with a different pair, and that’s before you even think about the brand magnetism of AirPods).

Audio design is where you’d hope they shine, and that’s exactly what they do. Noble are synonymous with ‘Wizard’-tech, Wizard being the cognomen given to the audiologist company founder. It’s incredibly well tuned and clear as anything — combine that with the ANC and you’re onto a winner with the Osprey. The ANC does struggle to chop out quite everything, but I’ve yet to try a pair that fully deafens the outside world without creating the feeling of a vacuum. Similarly, I listen to a mix of some pretty lively chiptunes, heavy metal and retro videogame music, and the bass gets a bit unwieldy above half-volume, but is well beyond any expectation until that point.

Add to that features such as the ergonomic design, which tucks into your ear cavity, as well as bass-positive metal nozzles and incredibly quick charging (we’re talking about a 1:9 charge ratio) and you’ve got some of the best earbuds out there… if you are in the market for something around the £200~ price point.

It’s no elephant in the room, I’ve mentioned it at least a couple of times through this short review, these earbuds don’t come cheap. That said, when a set of AirPod Pro 3 will set you back at least £200, maybe paying the same for what are arguably a superior, platform agnostic pair isn’t actually too much? You’ll have to charge them every other day, especially if you use the ANC, but if you’re willing to drop a couple of zeros on a set of earbuds then you really can’t go wrong with the Noble Osprey.

The Noble Osprey are available from the Noble store.
