Pokemon Go LEGO Pikachu with Background is out August 3rd
Coming to the US, UK, Poland, France, Germany and Australia, trainers who play Pokemon Go will be able to go to LEGO Stores to gain an in-game research, which will grant a Pikachu with LEGO Background.
This background was recently featured in Pokemon Go Fest Copenhagen, where players could attend a stamp rally to gain a few different go’s at getting a shiny Pikachu with the background or they could go in a nearby LEGO shop to get the timed research.
I presume that this timed research will work just like the one inside the LEGO store at Copenhagen, where trainers will just need to enter the store, open their game, and wait for the timed research to show up. The Stamp Rally that’s listed also sounds very similar, though I am not sure how that will work in each country as the stamp rally in Go Fest was quite spread out.
The Pikachu with a LEGO background will also be appearing in raids at participating LEGO store locations, which will likely encourage people to hang out in these areas.
I do think that the Pikachu with the LEGO background is one of the cooler backgrounds that Pokemon Go have created, so I am excited for the change to get more of them to have! It’s going to be interesting to see which stores are participating in this campaign. The event takes place from August 3rd to September 30th – just over a month. During this time, LEGO is promoting the LEGO Pokemon SMART play, so if you do want to go in-store, you can see a demo of this technology, receive a unique collectible SMART Play Tag, and get a special stamp for your LEGO passport.
