Bhashiva & The Tiger Warriors will be making their way to the sweeping strategy title Total War: Warhammer III next week, as part of the first character pack for the game. They’ll be available from the 21st of May, to coincide with this year’s Warhammer Skulls event.
In the same way that December is Christmas season, it appears that May is Warhammer season, no doubt because of the approaching Warhammer Skulls reveal. This time is, of course, a little different. Things feel bigger and bolder than previous, and that’s likely down to it being the tenth iteration of the reveal stream. Of course, it’s not just a reveal stream, as evidenced by both today’s news, of the Bhashiva faction of Cathay, and news yesterday that Mechanicus II would launch alongside the event.
Total War: Warhammer III originally launched back in 2022, and has already seen dozens of extra lords, heroes and subfactions added to it — notably, content from the previous two games also works in it. However, this is a new type of expansion, a ‘Character Pack’ — of which there are presumably more planned. Below are the finer details of the new faction.
Bhashiva, The Desert Tigress
The White Tiger of Shang‑Yang, Bhashiva is the latest in an ancient prophecy, reborn whenever the powers of Chaos threaten the world. A mercenary lord in the service of the Iron Dragon, she leads her own company of fierce Tiger Warriors in protection of Grand Cathay.
Campaign Features:
The Tiger Court: Matters of great importance to the Tiger Warriors are decided within the Tiger Court. Here they pass judgment and rule to one of three strategic Pillars which shape their faction identity and long-term strategy.
Armies of Shang‑Yang: Access to Cathay’s military must be earned through conquest. By completing missions for the Iron Dragon, Bhashiva unlocks access to insignias which can be applied to units to alter their battlefield prowess, as well as increases to army capacity.
Battle Playstyle & Units:
The Tiger Warriors are a force built around speed, stalking, and sudden ambushes which greatly enhances the tactical ability of Grand Cathay’s armies. They feature a variety of deadly units including; Sawai, Clawspeaker, Stalkers, Tiger Warriors with Dual Axes, and Iron Claws.
Alongside all of this arrives Patch 8.0 bringing updates to Grand Cathay alongside the infamous free Legendary Hero Taoyan the Merciless.
