Astro Burn Launches Kickstarter for Physical Edition

0

Astro Burn is a retro-inspired 90s cute-em-up – essentially a bullet hell with adorable cats. We got the chance to play some of the game at New Games Plus, where we wrote all about it:

Astro Burn first gave me a Jetpack Joyride vibe, with its side scrolling, bullet hell action, but I put that initial comparison right out of my mind as soon as I got my hands on it. We follow Astro, a ginger space kitty who’s spaceship is shot down, and for reasons unknown, is trapped inside her subconscious fighting off giant cuddly animals of all shapes and sizes. I mean, our first boss in the demo I played was a panda in a mech. It was truly a funny experience from beginning to end. I give props to the dialogue; it’s extremely funny.”

Astro Burn is the definition of Cute-’Em-Up!

Astro Burn has just launched a Kickstarter for a physical edition of the game, which is meant to play directly from a retro USB cartage, that also will be in its own box with an instruction manual. There are a bunch of different exclusives, like adorable pins, that can also be gained by backing the game.

With artwork, collectibles, and a soundtrack on a cassette, it’s truly a love letter for retro fans. The look of the USB being retro-inspired, but still having the technology through the USB to be played on a modern computer is such a nice touch.

You can currently back the game on Kickstarter right now.
