The Lord of the Rings: The King’s Gambit board game has been announced! This aims to be a restoration of The Queen’s Gambit – a fan-favorite and an iconic classic. The Lord of the Rings: The King’s Gambit will bring Middle-earth to life, with towering, three-dimensional structures that rise from the battlefield with detailed sculpted miniatures of each of the characters.

Every piece is being designed to make each moment feel as grand as the story that inspired it. The Lord of the Rings: The King’s Gambit will also have a Limited Edition version, which features premium play space, stunning table presence, and a scale you have to see to believe. This version will be crowdfunded later this year, not seeing distribution, so if it peaks your interest you should sign up for their campaign launch.

Lord of the Rings: The King’s Gambit has released a first look trailer, which shows some of the designs behind the board game. The prototypes do look fantastic already, and it’s something we are going to be keeping our eye on.

“We all quite enjoyed how quick the rounds were in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Trick-Taking Game and the detail on the cards. The box and cards themselves were standout when it came to artwork, which is always a plus.”

“There and Back Again is a delightful roll-and-write that combines elegant design with high-quality production and a warm, family-friendly theme. It’s easy to teach, quick to play, and satisfying to revisit, with just enough variety across its eight quests to keep things fresh.
