Graveyard Keeper 2 announced, will feature automation, tower-defense elements

Tiny Build Games has announced Graveyard Keeper 2, a sequel to 2018’s Graveyard Keeper

If you’ve not heard of the first game, it’s essentially a creepier version of Stardew Valley, where you are actually becoming a caretaker of a graveyard in a small town. You can work your lot of land, creating something clearer, and regenerate the local church to gain revenue, but there are some twists and turns – like the ability to feed dead bodies to the locals. It’s a wild ride. It managed to spawn two DLCS, but has clearly done well enough to spur the creation of Graveyard Keeper 2.

If you’ve not got a chance to play Graveyard Keeper, it’s now free on Steam, PlayStation and Xbox through until April 13th, so now’s your chance to give it ago ahead of the release of the sequel.

Graveyard Keeper 2 looks similar in vein to Graveyard Keeper, with the same sort of skill helper, the same town, and the same creepy yet cozy vibes. It does look like there will be a fighting element to the game, sort of like tower defence, along with factory elements where you can use dead bodies to run machines.

Automation seems interesting and creating an army of the undead is… a choice… but it’s one very much in the same style as the first game. It does sound like Graveyard Keeper 2 will also allow you to rebuild the town some more (even if just to get more money from the people that live there) and explore an expansion of the already twisted story.

There isn’t currently a set release date for Graveyard Keeper 2 beyond later this year, but you can wishlist the game right now over on Steam. I am hoping, personally, for an Xbox and Mobile release as well — and considering that the first title made it to both platforms, I think that’s not too unreasonable.
