Hidden Kittens: Kingdom of Cats – Spy the Cats!
Some hidden object cat games simply have you trying to find as many cats as possible. Hidden Kittens: Kingdom of Cats is one of those types of games, where you are presented with a large, primarily devoid of color picture and need to just start tapping away at every cat you see. Some are full cats, some are cat bums, some are drawings of cats. If it’s a cat, it counts!
At the top corner of your screen, there is a number on the left of the counter, showing how many cats are left in plain sight. Then, there is the number on the right which shows how many hidden cats are around. Unlike other hidden cat games we’ve played, there is no movement to tell you when a cat is hiding in an object, and instead you are encouraged to tap around as much as possible.
These hidden cats are, unsurprisingly, hidden and often can be found in unpredictable places. I do like that other characters in the game (people, animals) all have their own noises! This adds to the wonder as you tap about, looking for the next cat to tap. Hidden Kittens: Kingdom of Cats does have one main map, but there are doors to other sub-areas within that map that unlock when you have selected the number of cats listed on them. These can either be seen cats or hidden cats.
If you get stuck, there is a hint system that brings your right to a cat or to a place with a hidden cat, and these hints refresh as long as you let them sit for a bit. This type of hidden cat game feels very relaxing and is one that I enjoy, as there are often so many cats at first – it feels fulfilling watching them fill in!
Hidden Kittens: Kingdom of Cats also has a few color presets to pick from, but you can also customise the color scheme yourself, which is a great addition to any hidden object cat game!
You can find Hidden Kittens: Kingdom of Cats on PC, Switch, Xbox and Playstation.
