Edifier offers a wide range of products at a wide range of price points and the modest W800BT Pro fits neatly in the middle of that range offering active noise cancellation, good quality sound packaged neatly into a slick headset that is both comfortable to wear and lightweight.
The W800BT Pro comes in three different colours varying between black, white and grey with grey being the ones I received. The headset is made up of foam earcups and mainly plastic with an ergonomic padded headband for comfort letting it sit comfortably on and around your head.
The battery life of the W800BT Pro boasts a 45 hour usage without using the active noise cancellation setting, which drops the battery down to around 25 hours of constant usage. With just 15 minutes of charge you can get roughly eight hours of usage out of the headset which is amazing for travelling, or for quick charges on public transport.
The quality of the sound is nice overall, it oddly does seem to be a bit quiet at times even with the volume up, but otherwise it comes out clear and consistent. When connecting to other devices I had no issues with audio over Bluetooth, but the quality of the built in microphone wasn’t necessarily the greatest.
The Edifier Connex app can be used much like with the WH950NB that we reviewed a few months back, to tailor your listening experience to how you like it — with various controls and features available from your phone. If, like me, you prefer to have things a bit more analogue you can find the buttons for volume, bluetooth pairing and play/pause/power on the right side of the headset giving you some immediate control with no devices necessary.
