Hungry Horrors releases into 1.0 with 34 beasts to burst with food
One of the hottest roguelike deckbuilders is releasing into 1.0 today. Hungry Horrors sees players build decks of food and ingredients to skewer, season and sauté all for the benefit of 34 different “horrors”. From eldritch gods to folklore cryptids, Hungry Horrors might be another deckbuilder but it’s one with gorgeous art, interesting theming and lashings of extra content. It’s out now at 20% off to celebrate the exit from Early Access.
We are still getting our taste buds around Hungry Horrors, with a review landing in the near future (once we’ve digested it a little more, maybe even had a second serving!) but even without finishing the game the numbers speak for themselves.
Hungry Horrors 1.0 Content
- 8 Biomes inspired by the British Isles (who says the UK doesn’t have good food?)
- 34 different horrors to feed, with different requirements and even distinct death animations (for you…)
- 62 culinary delights to concoct
- 2 game modes for different styles of play
- 1 incredible OST
- 28 game bundles on Steam! If you want to show support for other indie developers then you can get Hungry Horrors as part of 28 different bundles
In our early access look we were as enamoured with the audio as much as the visuals:
“The art is absolutely gorgeous, and the animation that goes with it is really impressive. I like that the horrors each give you a unique death animation too. It’s nothing gruesome, but one would fling you into your own cauldron, whilst another would gobble you up with its long tongue. This is nothing on Henry Taylor’s soundtrack though, which is incredibly good. Subtle in places, loud and blaring in others, but always with a bouncy and upbeat feel.”
We announced a little while ago that Hungry Horrors would drop with 2 completely distinct game modes!
Roguelike Deckbuilder Hungry Horrors is out of Early Access on October 13th
Be sure to look out for our review and, if you can’t wait to get your lips around a succulent British sausage then head to Steam where the game is out now at 20% as a part of the Cooking Game Fest.
