Pokemon Go hasn’t been shy on the collaborations in real life this year. Outside of their normal line-up of Go Fest and Safari events, they’ve also partnered with the National Trust, LEGO and now have announced their partnership with the European Space Agency for a Space-themed Pikachu event.
From October 4th until April 30th, 2026, players will be able to visit a bunch of science and space museums to discover extra Pokemon Go gameplay events and even get an astronaut Pikachu.
I predict that this will work much like the LEGO and National Trust events, where the Pikachu will be available once every 24 hours, via one or two raids at the location, making it a very rare shiny. The backgrounds themselves will be unique to the individual museums, which is very nice, and there will also be Timed Research tasks to complete, with more background event themed Pokemon.
Unlike the National Trust and LEGO event, there will also be themed field research, from October 4th to October 10th, where players can get some special background Pokemon as well. During this time, there will also be an increased amount of Pikachu, Clefairy, Magnemite, Starmie, Lunatone, Solrock, Elgyem, and Blipbug (all which can be shiny) appearing in the wild.

- ESA ESAC (close to Madrid, Spain)
- ESA ESTEC (Noordwijk, Netherlands)
- ESA ESEC (close to Redu, Belgium)
- ESA ECSAT (Harwell, UK)
I suppose it’s time to book a road trip! I am hoping to get along to at least two of these locations, one of which isn’t far from me as it’s in England, but it would be great to do Paris as well!
