Thrifty Business is a cozy, thrift-shop management game where you can become a part of the local community, building relationships and holding events within your own shop. The game itself has been out for a little while, so they’ve released a quality of life update along with a sneak peak at the next new features that will be coming in their next update. At the moment, they are just calling this the Quality of Life update.

“Thrifty Business is a casual, fun management game with a lot of love put into it. It feels extremely distinct too. The number of items is MASSIVE with so many different categories for them — it feels like the amount of personal touch that you can put into your shop is limitless. The only real negative is how many wallpaper patches I needed to purchase to change over the look of a room (one for each side, with the stairs being it’s own ‘side), but this is a very small detail to hold back as a negative.”

In the Quality of Life update for Thrifty Business, they have taken feedback from the greater community. One of the first things they did was change the tutorial around so that players understood they could move boxes around so that they could better organise the boxes before unboxing them – something some people failed to fully understand.
Thrifty Business has tinkered with the display for items of the same tag, showing you if you have enough of the same tagged item in the same area to trigger a bonus when opening up your shop. This is actually extremely clever and is perfectly showcased now in the game. You’ll be able to really tell how to level up that area so that you can better hit specific needs of your shop. You can also see how an item would change levels in an area before placing it to – it’s just much better organisation and planning.
Some community members of Thrifty Business were trying to make all clothing shops or all toy shops. With blind boxes, this is often a little challenge, so box re-rolls are now in game. They’ve also added trash cans so that players do not need to continue to clean up trash if they do not want to, and instead can select the trash can once per day to get rid of all the trash with one click.
Another feature that many players wanted were decorations for your shop, in the form of the items you have placed into the shop. Now, you can lock items so that these wears become decorations! Along with selling items, you can add clearance sections to your shop with signs (both on clothing and on tables or shelves) which can help with sales.
Lastly, they’ve added some more variations of their wallpaper that had some colors. Along with all of these changes, Thrifty Business has announced that they will be continuing to update the game adding a bunch of plants and garden-related items it looked like! This was just a sneak peak, however, so we will see what else is in store.
