New Pokemon LEGO Brick Sets now on Pre-Order
It’s impossible to deny that both Pokemon and LEGO are household names (LEGO even do board games now), so it only makes sense that the two brands are going to keep working together to make a bunch of Pokemon LEGO sets! Now they’ve announced the second set of Pokemon LEGO sets for pre-order. These twelve new sets are aimed at making children feel like Pokemon Trainers themselves, by acting out fun stories and moments inspired by the world of Pokemon.
The new sets of Pokemon LEGO are actually powered by the LEGO SMART Play System, which allows these sets to light up or make noises — some of you will recognise this from the incredibly popular Mario tie in that Nintendo and LEGO have previously done. Using the system, children can even feed their LEGO Pikachu a brick-built LEGO SMART Tag sandwich or tickle their LEGO Charizard, which causes it to laugh. It’s a really clever use of the technology, and works perfectly with the Pokemon brand as it means that it’s more than just a collectors item or something to simply sit on the shelf — it can instead be a toy.
My personal favourites are the Mewtwo’s Lab Break and the Training House with Pikachu, but some do look quite strange like Jigglypuff’s eyes in the Jugglypuff Concert set and Gengar’s entire body in the Cubone and Gengar’s Spooky Showdown set. Either way, there is a good variety in sizes of these LEGO sets, along with a wide price range from more expensive sets to cheaper sets than the previous Pokemon LEGO drop.
The Pokemon LEGO sets did sell out fast, so if you are looking to make sure you get a set, then now is the time to pre-order.
