Hollowbody is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox this June
Hollowbody is a dystopian love letter to survival horror, taking inspiration from classic titles from the 2000s, but also having unique aspects that make the game feel fresh and new through the story. We previously reviewed the game for PC, and one of our writers included the game in their honourable mentions for the best game of the year.
“Hollowbody is a well put together love letter to Silent Hill but with a neat technological twist. There’s a great, creepy atmosphere along with a couple of jump scares for fans of horror, but also an interesting story for those that enjoy a creepy tale. Considering this was mostly made by a single developer, it’s even more impressive how well it’s come out. This isn’t a revolution in the genre, but it’s great to see a throwback to a better time in gaming’s history.”
Hollowbody takes place in the near-future, where players become Mica, an unlicensed black market shipper who is on a mission to find their missing partner. After her hover crashes deep within the exclusion zone, she is stranded and alone, with limited resources, looking to not only survive but also complete her mission. There are lots of environment puzzles, resource managements, and fights that need to be take on to come out alive. It’s a tense, cinematic game that feels quite scary.
If you aren’t a PC gamer, Hollowbody is now coming to PlayStation and Xbox, with PlayStation currently having a 15% off discount on the pre-order price.
Xbox pre-orders will open on May 22nd, and will also have a 15% off discount as well. The console version is feature-complete, including all post-launch updates to the original PC release. It also includes new optional puzzles, locations, and lore (along with quality of life updates, bug fixes, and a third-person camera mode).
