OXS Storm A2 Wireless Headset – Bring the Noise!
Due to an accident when I was younger, I unfortunately am unable to wear any in-ear earbuds, as they cause me physical discomfort and pain after extended use. This means that headsets are my preferred method of listening to my music and audiobooks, and I usually have two separate pairs – one for everyday use, going out to the shops and the like, and a pair I use on my desktop. For both, I’m usually very particular about which brands I use — I’ve been using the same brand of PC headset for the past ten years — but with the OXS Storm headset, this could finally change.
Initially after deboxing the OXS Storm, I was concerned that the rubber earpads felt a little cheap in my hands, but that fear very quickly faded away as I put them on for the first time. This headset is extremely comfortable and fits on my head quite snugly but doesn’t squeeze my head too hard. The microphone is detachable and bendable to a position that benefits you (and your voice chat)! The connection between the headset and dongle is on a 2.4GHz Ultra-Low Latency, and I personally never experienced connection issues. The headset also features a noise gate facility on the microphone, so it won’t pick up any breathing or outside noise, keeping comms clear during an intense game or during an important phone call.

The most impressive feature for me on this headset is its seamless transition between Bluetooth connectivity to your phone, and dongle connectivity to your PC. A simple button press and hold means that I can finish a gaming session, hold a button, and leave my house listening to music without taking the headset off. This is the main selling point of these headphones for me – being able to press a button and change what I’m doing is both impressive and very convenient for me. There’s also a button to turn on and off sound noise cancelling – allowing you to truly turn off all noise in the outside world when it’s time to lock in.

The battery life is usually most people’s biggest concerns when it comes to headsets, but fear not; I spent the best part of a week and a half with the headset, averaging four to eight hour gaming sessions, as well as falling asleep overnight with them on for eight plus hours, and I optionally decided to charge the headset when I saw they were on 30%. The battery life is incredible.

I can totally understand that, for most gamers or audiophiles, they are loyal to one particular brand because that brand gives them exactly what they need and often don’t venture out into the world and try new ones. As someone that’s done so with this headset, pick yourself up a set and see what I mean for yourself. Stylish, practical, very long battery life and comfortable to wear; what more could you want?
