Fish Fight – Family Friendly Fishy Fun

Fish Fight is a team-based competitive physical game where two teams (of at least two people) compete to complete their trophy belts in up to nine challenges per game. These challenges? A number of hilarious tasks of skill, perseverance and just plain luck.

The rules in Fish Fight are quite simple: Pull a card, complete the task listed with one or more of your teammates or submit one of your team members to compete on your behalf, to get one of four fishes into place in a myriad of ways.

My personal favourite task of Fish Fight, which we dubbed “Fish Game”, was when two people had to simultaneously throw the fish between each other and clap both hands together with the other person in a sort of double high five. The hands clapping had to be done with fish mid-air creating a hilarious mess as both myself and my partner’s brains would freeze trying to focus on both tasks at once in the right order and a combination of half slaps and fish flying everywhere would then ensue for around 30 seconds.

Other tasks in Fish Fight might require you to transport the soft fish to the other side of the room with it balanced on your forehead whilst moving backwards or thigh-to-thigh with a team mate and then dropping it as close to a ball as possible, or around a rope. There was a wide selection of tasks in there, enough to ensure that there’s enough variety for replayability.

For my group we played with only four people, but it can be played with larger groups. In those cases you would just have to have some people volunteer (or be chosen by your group) for the tasks between yourselves to compete for your five points to get the belt of victory.

Overall, we had a great time with Fish Fight and I would highly recommend it for both indoor and outdoor fun. All of the physical items used are quite durable and can lead to a good hour or so of fun per session, but you’ll laugh a lot more at your friends than the fish!
