If you looked at my recent coverage and asked me if I only play hidden object cat games, I would tell you that the reason I’m covering so many is because they’re the main thing that Robin and I play together on slow mornings! Meow Moments: Celebrating Geeks & Athletes is another addition to the Meow Moments series, with the previous having a Valentine’s Day theme. This time, the theme is more ‘brains versus brawns’.
Now, I am not sure why Meow Moments: Celebrating Geeks & Athletes would have this sort of combination of the themes, as they are both very different. It contains two levels, one that has a sort of comic con situation, which is the Geeks element. The other is Olympics themed, and covers the ‘Athlete’ angle. Both of the levels play out the same, if I am honest.
In them you look at a big, black and white picture. At the top of the screen there are three pictures of cats, a number in a balloon, and three pictures of humans. You need to pop all the balloons, tap all the cats and tap all the humans. If you are finding one of the humans to be particularly difficult, then you can re-roll them at the top, which gives you a new one. But, you will eventually need to find all the ones on the list.
It’s a relaxing game, although the music isn’t very themed to the different challenges. These two levels also had other animals, who weren’t cats, participating which you did need to find as well. If it becomes particularly difficult then you can use Meow Moments: Celebrating Geeks & Athletes‘ hint system. It zooms out and gives you a magnifying glass to play with, this reveals the general area of a thing you’re looking for.
Although Meow Moments: Celebrating Geeks & Athletes is a simple game, it’s one that feels fun if you are a fan of either of ‘Where’s Wally’ style finding games, or just cats in general. I did like how many wheelchair users were shown in the Olympics section of the game – making the whole thing feel very inclusive.
