The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante is now available on the Nintendo Switch family of consoles!
Set in a dark medieval fantasy world, The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante originally launched on Steam back in 2021, before dropping on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One generation of consoles in 2022, and now, finally, Switch players can join in on the choose-your-own-adventure style gameplay.
We here at B3 have reviewed the game twice, both it’s console release and the initial Windows launch. Matt called it a “slow paced, well written narrative RPG that has a thoughtful, well-crafted world” and Katherine thought “It combines immaculate presentation and immersive mechanics with an incredibly detailed setting to set the scene for whatever story you decide to tell.”
It’s a hard-knock life for Sir Brante in The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante
The story revolves around the titular Sir Brante, a small boy born into a big world, filled with indignity and pain. Every choice you make will affect the world around you, and the story is shaped by your decisions. Players claim a 15+ hour adventure on your first play through, and the twists and turns should mean you’ll be dying for a second go after the fact too!
Gameplay literally has you working through pages of a book, making choices that will change your stats and open up the branching webs of the three “main” pathways through the game.
At the time of writing, The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante is currently free on Steam if you want to grab the initial release, but can also be found for £20.99 on Xbox, £19.99 on Playstation, and the new Switch release (which will of course be compatible with Switch 2 also) clocks in at an even cheaper £17.99.
If, after all this, you’re still wanting more, 101XP games have also released The Life & Suffering of Prince Jerian too, although that is currently only available on Steam.
